The staff works together to ensure provision of excellent care for the animals; as well as compliance with all regulations, internal policies, and standard operating procedures (SOP).
Technicians are responsible for the health and welfare of research animals for the Cancer Institute, maintenance of a clean and safe facility, and providing communication and veterinary and technical support to the research staff.
High level autonomy and critical decision making daily while working together to ensure provision of excellent care for the animals and optimization of scientific outcomes.
This includes understanding and compliance with all regulations, internal policies, and standard operating procedures (SOP).

Required qualifications :
within 2 years of hire : American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) Certification at the Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) level.
Preferred qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 6 months Experience working with animals, especially in a research setting.
